Description
Monstera Adansonii, also known as Adanson's Swiss Cheese Vine, features large, glossy green leaves with deep splits and holes. It can trail from a hanging basket or grow up a support such as a trellis or moss pole, making it a stunning container plant for indoor spaces. The attractive large, deeply cut heart-shaped leaves emerge light green and turn dark green throughout the year.
This evergreen houseplant has a spreading, ground-hugging habit of growth with a bold, coarse texture. Prune at any time to maintain its appearance. When grown indoors, it can reach about 10 feet tall with a spread of 3 feet. It grows quickly and can live for approximately 20 years under ideal conditions. Monstera Adansonii performs well in both bright or indirect sunlight and strong artificial light, thriving in almost any well-lit room. It prefers average to moist soil and should be watered once or twice a week to prevent the soil from drying out completely. Be aware that parts of this plant are toxic to humans and animals, so exercise caution if growing it around children and pets.
