Description

'Brentwood' Lettuce Leaf is a compact, high-yielding variety with glossy, burgundy, lobed leaves that are ideal for quick, easy salad preparation. Developed as an Eazyleaf™ type, its narrow leaf attachment allows for “one-cut ready” harvesting, where the leaves are the perfect size for salads after a single cut at the base. This disease-resistant, bolt-tolerant lettuce thrives in small spaces and offers a long harvest window. Resistant to downy mildew, lettuce leaf aphid, and Fusarium wilt, 'Brentwood' lettuce is a reliable, low-maintenance addition to any garden.

Botanical Name: Lactuca sativa

Variety Information: Compact, short heads have glossy, burgundy, lobed leaves with a soft texture. Eazyleaf™ lettuces were developed to have a narrow leaf attachment, making them “one-cut ready” types, meaning with one cut at the base, the leaves are the perfect size to use for salads. Good bolt resistance and disease resistant to downy mildew, lettuce leaf aphid, and Fusarium wilt.

When to Sow Outside: 2 to 4 weeks before your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 40°F, ideally 60°–70°F. Successive Sowings: Every 3 weeks until 4 to 6 weeks before your average first fall frost date. Mild Climates: Sow in fall and winter for cool season harvests.
When to Start Inside: RECOMMENDED. 4 to 6 weeks before your average last frost date, and in summer when soil temperatures are too warm (above 80°F) to germinate lettuce seed.
Days to Emerge: 5–10 days
Seed Depth: 1/8″–1/4″
Seed Spacing: 1 seed every 8″
