Ornamental Cabbage Osaka Red adds rich color and texture to cool-season gardens and fall displays. Grown in our Woburn Greenhouses, this ornamental annual forms a dense rosette of smooth, rounded leaves. Deep red center foliage blends with pink tones and bluish-green outer leaves for a striking layered look. The colors become even more vibrant when temperatures fall below 60°F, extending interest into late fall and early winter.
Ornamental Cabbage Osaka Red grows about 10 inches tall and 12 inches wide with a compact, mounded shape. It performs best in full sun with evenly moist, well-drained soil. Plant it in containers, garden beds, borders, or mass plantings for dependable cool-weather color. Its rounded form also works beautifully as a focal point or filler in mixed fall planters.
