The Thorny Key Lime Tree produces small, juicy limes with a bold and tart citrus flavor. The fruit grows about 1.5 to 2 inches wide and is packed with fresh lime flavor. Use Key limes in drinks, desserts, marinades, sauces, and other recipes. Glossy green leaves and fragrant flowers add tropical beauty to this citrus tree. Its branches have thorns, so take care when handling or pruning the plant.
Grow your Thorny Key Lime Tree in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. Water about one to two times a week, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. This lime tree prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F with moderate to high humidity. Bring it indoors when temperatures turn cold. Place it in a bright spot with plenty of light when growing indoors.
