Description
Blue Ice Star Flower is a compact perennial prized for its deep blue blooms and attractive, finely textured foliage. Clusters of star-shaped flowers appear from late spring into early summer, creating a striking display above narrow, light green leaves. The flowers are also excellent for cutting and bringing indoors. In fall, the foliage turns a beautiful shade of yellow, extending seasonal interest. Blue Ice Star Flower looks especially impressive when planted in groups along borders, garden edges, and woodland gardens.
Easy to maintain and long lived, Blue Ice Star Flower thrives in full sun to partial shade with average to moist, well-drained soil. Its compact, rounded habit makes it easy to incorporate into mixed perennial beds and naturalized plantings. Deer typically leave this plant alone, making it a dependable choice for many landscapes. With its vivid flowers, colorful fall foliage, and durable nature, this North American native selection provides years of beauty in the garden.
