Description
Anemone coronaria 'Bordeaux' brings rich color to spring gardens with deep wine-red, cup-shaped flowers and royal-purple centers. These elegant blooms grow 8-12 inches tall and add bold beauty to garden beds, borders, containers, rock gardens, and mass plantings. Anemone coronaria 'Bordeaux' also makes an excellent cut flower with a long vase life and attracts butterflies to the garden. Plant the bulbs 3-4 inches deep and apart in full sun to partial shade, and soak them in lukewarm water for 2 hours before planting to help start healthy roots. Blooming from late spring to early summer, this deer- and rabbit-resistant flower is hardy in Zones 7-10 and can form a lovely colony when grown in the right spot.
