Description

Sweet, crisp, and perfectly sized, ‘Little Finger’ carrots are a gardener’s delight for fresh snacking, salads, or pickling. Unlike store-bought baby carrots, these Nantes-type carrots grow true to size, producing smooth, cylindrical roots that reach 3″ at peak harvest and develop a vibrant deep orange color even before maturity. Left in the garden, ‘Little Finger’ can grow up to 7″, making them versatile for multiple culinary uses.

Ideal for successive sowings and late-season harvests, ‘Little Finger’ carrots thrive in cool spring or fall soils and perform well even in warmer climates when planted appropriately. Their tender texture and naturally sweet flavor make them perfect for fresh eating, preserving, or light frost-enhanced sweetness, offering a reliable and rewarding crop for home gardens.

This packet sows up to 42 feet. 510 seeds.

Harvesting: For best flavor and texture, harvest carrots any time before, and until they reach their optimal size. Peak harvest period lasts about 3 weeks, longer in the fall. Late summer-sown carrots are sweetened after having been kissed by light frost; however, harvest before soil freezes, which may destroy the crop. In USDA zone 5 or warmer, carrots can be left in the ground for storage provided they are heavily mulched; harvest as needed on days the ground is not frozen.
