Description

Grow the flavorful Noga Basil, a Genovese-type variety prized for its large, glossy dark green leaves and exceptional productivity. Its tall, uniform plants reach 18″ in height and 8–12″ wide, making them ideal for field, greenhouse, or container growing. Slow to bolt, Noga provides a long harvest window for fresh, aromatic leaves perfect for pesto, salads, or cooking. With intermediate resistance to downy mildew and Fusarium wilt, this heirloom-inspired basil is both reliable and flavorful.

Sow indoors 4–6 weeks before transplanting or outdoors 1–2 weeks after the last frost when soil temperatures reach 60°–85°F. Harvest up to a third of the plant at a time, pinching tops to encourage branching and prevent flowering for the best flavor. Mulching after the soil warms helps retain moisture and ensures healthy, productive growth. Noga Basil delivers classic Genovese flavor and extended harvests, making it a favorite for gardeners seeking high-quality, versatile basil.

This packet contains 30 seeds.

Growing Info:

Harvesting: Basil flavor is best before the plant flowers. Harvest up to 1/3 of the plant at a time, leaving enough for the plant to be healthy and keep producing. Harvest prior to a freeze; basil is very frost sensitive.

Special Care: Mulching soil will help retain moisture, but do so after soil has warmed up so as not to slow growth. Once basil has 3 to 4 sets of leaves, pinch the top to encourage branching. Pinch off flower buds as they appear for best leaf flavor.
