Description
Introduced in 1943, 'Wando' is a hardy cross between the English heirloom 'Laxton’s Progress' and the New England heirloom 'Perfection.' Known for its cold tolerance for early sowing and heat tolerance for late-season harvesting, this variety produces 7-9 medium-sized peas in each pod. The sturdy plants, growing to 24″-30″ tall, thrive in cool spring weather but can also be sown in midsummer or fall for a winter harvest in milder climates. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned gardener, 'Wando' offers reliable productivity throughout the growing season.

Use scissors to harvest or hold vine with one hand and pick the pods with the other; vines are fragile.
