The American Redmond Linden is a stately shade tree prized for its strong pyramidal shape, fragrant summer flowers, and dependable performance. More compact than the species, it grows to about 50 feet tall and 35 feet wide, making it an excellent choice for larger home landscapes, parks, and streetscapes. Clusters of fragrant yellow flowers bloom in early summer, attracting bees and other pollinators, while glossy dark green foliage turns a brilliant golden yellow in fall for outstanding seasonal color. Also known as Basswood, this long-lived tree provides excellent shade and year-round landscape value.
American Redmond Linden thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-draining soil. Hardy in Zones 5 to 9, this adaptable, low-maintenance tree develops a strong branching structure and clean, symmetrical habit that requires minimal pruning once established.
