Beautyberry American is a colorful deciduous shrub that brings beauty from summer through fall. Small lavender-pink flowers bloom along its graceful branches in summer. By late summer, the flowers give way to bright purple berries that create a bold display. The berries last into fall and attract birds to your garden. Yellow-green fall foliage adds another season of interest.
Beautyberry American is an excellent choice for borders, mass plantings, wildlife gardens, or large containers. Its naturally arching branches create an attractive shape with little effort. This medium-growing shrub performs best in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Prune in late winter to encourage healthy new growth, as flowers and berries form on the current season's stems.
