Description
Purple Pillar® Rose of Sharon (Botanical Name: Hibiscus syriacus 'Gandini Santiago') is a narrow, columnar shrub with dazzling purple-pink semi-double blooms featuring striking red centers. From mid-summer to early fall, its trumpet-shaped flowers with pink overtones and creamy white throats brighten the landscape. This deciduous shrub, with green foliage, is an ideal addition for an entryway or privacy screen and thrives in full sun.
Reaching a mature height of 15 feet and a width of just 3 feet, Purple Pillar® Rose of Sharon has an upright columnar shape perfect for small spaces. It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds but is not favored by deer. With a medium growth rate, it requires regular care and pruning in late winter to maintain its shape. For optimal growth, ensure deep watering each week and well-draining soil.
Each plant comes in a #3 (3 gallon) growers container. The image shown represents an example of what you may receive. Please note that the height, shape, and fullness of each plant may vary due to natural growth patterns. Rest assured, we will select the healthiest and most vibrant plant for you.
