Strawberry Sundae® Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Rensun') is a compact variety that showcases large, conical flower heads, beginning with white blooms that gradually transition to pink, and finally mature into a rich strawberry red. This plant thrives in smaller spaces and containers, providing a stunning visual appeal throughout the growing season. From early summer to early fall, the bold conical flowers at the ends of the branches are ideal for cutting, allowing you to bring their beauty indoors.
With green deciduous foliage, Strawberry Sundae® Hydrangea maintains a clean, lush appearance throughout the season, although the pointy leaves do not develop any notable fall color. This multi-stemmed shrub has an upright spreading habit of growth, and its relatively coarse texture helps it stand out among finer-foliaged plants. For optimal care, occasional maintenance is required, and it’s best to prune it in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed.
