Description

A true garden workhorse, Densiformis Yew (Taxus x media 'Densiformis') is a versatile evergreen shrub prized for its dense, spreading habit and year-round color. New foliage emerges bright green in spring before maturing to a deep forest green, held in refined, fern-like sprays that retain their lush look through winter. Its upright, wide-growing shape makes it a favorite for low hedges, topiary, and foundation plantings, while the red drupes in fall add subtle seasonal interest. Adaptable and handsome, this dwarf conifer offers structure and reliability for shaded or partly sunny garden spaces.

Ideal for both residential and urban landscapes, Densiformis Yew thrives in a wide range of light conditions—from full sun to full shade—and tolerates various soils and air pollution. It grows slowly to about 3 feet tall and 5 feet wide, filling in right to the ground with no need for companion plants. Exceptionally tolerant of pruning, it can be shaped any time of year, making it a strong candidate for formal or naturalistic styles. While it is low-maintenance and long-lived, it's important to note that all parts of the plant are toxic to humans and animals—so plant with care around children and pets.

Each plant comes with the roots balled & burlapped. The image shown represents an example of what you may receive. Please note that the height, shape, and fullness of each plant may vary due to natural growth patterns. Rest assured, we will select the healthiest and most vibrant plant for you.
