Description

American Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is a native, ground-hugging evergreen shrub that thrives in moist, boggy soils and along wetland edges. In mid-spring, it produces dainty nodding white to pink flowers, followed by tart, ruby-red berries with purple highlights that mature from mid-summer into early fall. The glossy, dark green foliage emerges coppery in spring and transitions to rich burgundy in fall, persisting through winter for year-round visual interest.

Highly ornamental and edible, American Cranberry is perfect for naturalized landscapes, shoreline restoration, or edible gardens. Its berries attract birds and pollinators, while its spreading habit makes it ideal for erosion control. Low-maintenance and self-pollinating, it grows best in full sun with consistently moist, well-drained soil.

Each plant comes in a #1 (1 gallon) growers container. The image shown represents an example of what you may receive. Please note that the height, shape, and fullness of each plant may vary due to natural growth patterns. Rest assured, we will select the healthiest and most vibrant plant for you.
