Description
Bowman’s Root is a graceful native perennial ideal for shaded or woodland gardens in Massachusetts. Its airy, star-shaped flowers bloom in late spring on tall, red-tinged stems, creating a delicate, dancing effect. The fine-textured foliage emerges with red and bronze tints and forms a bushy clump without appearing heavy or overgrown.
This low-maintenance perennial prefers well-drained soil and partial shade but tolerates a variety of garden conditions. After flowering, attractive red calyxes remain on the stems, extending seasonal interest well into fall. Bowman's Root is an excellent choice for naturalizing, especially in Massachusetts woodland gardens and shaded borders.
