Description

Alocasia reginae, also known as Silver Velvet, produces stunning, silver-gray heart-shaped leaves with contrasting black veins and reddish-purple undersides. This striking tropical makes an excellent houseplant and prefers bright, filtered sunlight. The large glossy leaves emerge chartreuse, turning silver with curious burgundy undersides and dark gray tinges throughout the year.

This evergreen houseplant has an upright, spreading habit of growth and a bold, coarse texture. It can grow up to 3 feet tall and wide indoors, maturing at a medium rate and potentially living for about 5 years under ideal conditions. Silver Velvet Alocasia thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and average to moist soil. It should be watered once or twice a week, ensuring the soil doesn't dry out completely. While it is not particular about soil type or pH, it is important to note that parts of this plant are toxic to humans and animals, so special care should be taken if growing it around children and pets.
