Azalea Candy Lights is a fragrant, cold-hardy variety that bursts into bloom with clusters of clear pink, trumpet-shaped flowers in mid-spring. Developed by the University of Minnesota, this improved variety replaces the hard-to-propagate Pink Lights, offering enhanced vigor and beauty.
The green deciduous foliage provides a lush backdrop throughout the growing season, though it does not develop notable fall color. With an open, multi-stemmed growth habit and slightly coarse texture, this azalea stands out among finer-leaved plants. It thrives in well-drained, highly acidic soil with organic matter, making peat moss an essential addition at planting.
