A circa 1920's Egyptian Revival enamel on brass Sarcophagus pendant. This unique antique 3 dimensional pendant features a detailed 1 3/4" cobalt blue enamel brass Sarcophagus. This pendant is likely Czechoslovakian in origin. 1 3/4" in length and has an 18" chain included. Unmarked piece. In very good antique condition (one small chip to enamel which is not readily noticeable).
There were several Egyptian Revival periods in history, the first followed Napoleon's campaign in Egypt. The second followed the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869 which led to an increase in tourism in Egypt. The third followed the discovery of the tomb of King Tut in 1923.
