Large Suzanne Sloan Lewis bowl hand painted cobalt blue white interior scene

This listing is for a stunning, skillfully painted large decorative bowl by renown California artist Suzanne Sloan Lewis. The piece could very well be used for practical purposes, but who would want to cover the beautifully painted scene? Love this intricate motif of a stately interior. The exterior of the bowl is painted as well featuring drapery-like abstract motif. The painterly application of cobalt oxide is done quite elegantly. The wide rim of the bowl features subtle texture. The bowl is substantial in size measuring roughly 4 x 12 1/2" in diameter. Overall, the bowl is in good condition, but there is one issue that likely occurred during firing. There is a crack on the exterior of the bowl. It does not go through the wall. Such flaws typically happen if there is some unevenness in the thickness and/or the compression of the wall.
