Beautifully hand carved wooden Tall Sailing Ship or Clipper Ship plaque
Carved in relief on hardwood board then sealed front and edges with a light to medium brown varnish
Wonderful carved detail of the ship, its 3 masts & many sails, & the sea beneath
Appears to bear a name or initials carved in the lower left of ship—cannot decipher it
Can be wall mounted (no hardware for that already on piece) but will also stand on its own
12 1/2” tall x 4 3/4” wide x 1 3/8” thick ( 7/8” thick in carved area)
Weighs 16.7 ounces
Looks to be vintage although origin, artist, & date of creation unknown
Very good preowned condition with some expected dings & dents, deterioration of the varnish or sealer, & a blob of varnish on the upper left
A truly handsome appealing carving for fans of the seafaring favorite, the Tall Ship
